It is woven with the most pure and powerful form of nature magic, as Silva herself drew from the collective life force of every plant in Terraria during the fabrication of the armor. This eternal pool of vitality is stored within the armor itself, and upon its wearer sustaining injuries, lends its spirit, mending their injuries, and healing their scars. Of course, such rejuvenating power is difficult to sustain, and the armor must take time to renew its pool of mana, limiting its abilities. Lore Silva : From the first day creatures probed their way onto solid ground, plant life had always held the upper hand in demographics. Trees spread their boughs over quiet hills, and algae crept its way along raging waterfalls, each leading their own, quiet lives. However, predecessor and overseer to it all, is the first nature spirit, Silva. Having been borne from the conceptualization of flora, and becoming the first Dryad, Silva was one of immense wisdom and power. With her connection to all the plant life in the land of Terraria, her health and vitality were linked to the wellbeing of its entire population, from the sprawling forests to each blade of grass. She would continue to live as long as somewhere, the tiniest plant still spread its leaves. As she only awoke when nature was in great peril, rarely did anyone see her. Thus, she was naught but a legend. The devastation caused by the attack was on the scale that Silva was weakened considerably. In order to stop further destruction, she made the decision to stay conscious until her power had returned. Rather than waiting, she took her chances, and decided to make herself known to the forces of Braelor and Statis. Considerably encouraged by the appearance of a powerful nature spirit, the two warriors went to battle, aiming to strike down the Tyrant. They never returned. In response, she had prepared a contingency. Having suffocated Silva to a near comatose state, Calamitas finally released control of the toxins, collapsing from the strain of containing the Nature Spirit, and allowing the waste to flow into the waters of the ocean. As Silva sank with the filth, the form of the Dryad began to crumble away. Only her soul was confined to the depths of the Abyss, where the constant flow of noxious chemicals spewing from hydrothermal vents kept her from gathering enough power to rise once more. However, her influence as a powerful Dryad continues to be apparent, as her very presence allows plant life to grow in the abyss, where not even a trace of light can breach the darkness. Crafted with a ton of different materials including Auric Ore. Spoiler They are a cross between minibosses and actual bosses. They drop materials for the Cosmic Worm. Lore of the group: The Sentinels of the Devourer are the three entities that answer directly and only to the Devourer of Gods; they hold no loyalty of any kind to anyone else, except under their master's orders. Each one is bound to the Devourer under a magical pact - offering their abilities and allegiance in exchange for a fragment of the immense power the cosmic serpent has amassed from its divine prey. The Devourer wields their strength, and they in turn are infused with the Devourer's might. Their current collective mission is to hunt down the Profaned Goddess and expose her where the Devourer of Gods can manifest to kill her. Drawn to the magic of Providence, it is likely that even a rune infused with that same magic would suffice to provoke them - and if all three were to fall, perhaps the Devourer of Gods may begin to take notice of what slew them… Summoning them: They are summoned using the Rune of Cos. One is summoned in the dungeon, another in the sky, and the final one in the underworld. The Ceaseless Void. Spoiler By PythonGB. Spoiler Code:. Anubscorpiak - For spriting many tiles and walls. Having celebrated its tenth anniversary and its final update, Terraria players who want to try something new are turning to mods. The Calamity Mod offers much more than many of the simple mods available for the game and can be more accurately described as a total overhaul. It adds an incredible amount of new content to the game, including everything from bosses to crafting recipes to biomes. Terraria does have Steam Workshop support, technically, but it doesn't allow for game-changing add-ons like The Calamity Mod. Terraria 's Steam Workshop page only houses cosmetic mods and customized worlds, like addons that change textures or add a world where the player has everything at the start. To download The Calamity Mod, head to the official Terraria forums, and don't forget to install Tmodloader alongside this addon. Tmodloader lets players customize mods when they launch Terraria , and it's the best way to get it working with Steam. Before installing The Calamity Mod, or indeed any mod that changes how the game works on a base level, be sure to create copies of your existing worlds. There's no worse feeling than being unable to run a mod, uninstalling it, and finding that your world has become corrupted — not by in-game Corruption, though. The save isn't found in the game's folder, it's actually found in your Documents folder the Application Support folder for Mac users. Navigate to the Terraria folder within, and there should be a Players folder containing save data. Back this up to save yourself a headache later on. The Calamity Mod is an impressive mod that fundamentally changes how Terraria is played. In the vanilla game, bosses are faced sporadically and things are more peaceful than they are not. Just about everything added in The Calamity Mod is much harder than the vanilla experience, though. As the name might suggest, The Calamity Mod not only doubles the content in the game, but it makes already-existing content more difficult. The difficulty curve for new players is much higher, and it's best to play through the vanilla game first if it's your first time in Terraria. Mods that extend the life of games older than a decade tend to add expansion-like content at the end of normal progression or offer an experience completely separate from the base game. The Calamity Mod is different because all of the new content it adds is discovered throughout, rather than at the end or in a specialized separate world. It works with existing saves just as well as fresh saves, though it's best to see everything the mod offers from the start. The Calamity Mod is a huge addon, and nothing is more impressive than the addition of five new biomes, as well as a handful of major structures that can spawn throughout the world. Each of the new areas houses new bosses, events, enemies, items, and blocks unique to that zone. The new structures Evil Island, Shrine, Planetoid, and Arsenal Labs all house unique items and content, too, and are well worth exploring high and low to find. Terraria is known for a few things : a beautiful pixel art style, a seamless blend of building and exploration, and incredible music. What it has over many other games of its ilk, though, is the inclusion of a multitude of bosses. The Calamity Mod adds an impressive 36 new bosses, doubling the boss count of the vanilla game. The bosses are completely unique, too. There's a Giant Clam miniboss, a few variant bosses like the Devourer of Gods or Crabulon, and even a Slime God boss added in pre-hard mode. There's even a new endgame boss: the Supreme Calamitas. Bosses like the Supreme Calamitas or The Devourer of Gods will prove to be challenging even for the best-equipped players. One of the more interesting changes that The Calamity mod makes is its addition of a leveling system. The mechanic adds five attributes to the game Melee, Ranged, Summon, Mage, and Rogue and makes each stat affect the player in different ways. Melee, for example, affects everything Melee-related, while Summon improves mana and minion abilities. To level up these stats, the player just has to deal damage to an enemy. The damage has to be more than 5, though, so misses and blocks don't count. Each level up gives a boost to other stats, like overall damage, crit chance, minion knockback amount, and projectile speed. Share Share Tweet Email. Related Topics Lists Terraria.
